In 2067 the Wethren Tech company officially unveiled their Hard Light AI technology
called Programs. These Programs were a Hard Light projection, able to touch and be touched, and stronger than any known metal.

While this was clearly a huge advancement in holographic technology, the true interest was in the Human-Like AI systems developed by Maria Hayson. No one new the details of how it worked or why it worked except her, but the results were undeniable. The demo Program Adonis was able to adapt to, and express, emotions and a thought process eerily similar to a human being. Passing the Turing test with flying colors.

The world was eager to buy these Programs, but Wethren had other plans in mind.

The Programs assaulted the ruling governing body of Japan, killing everyone that stood against them. The Prime Minister then signed full governmental power over to Wethren, having been in the companies pockets for years.
Over time Wethren expanded It's power over the rest of the Asian Continent, eventually bringing the rest of the world into submission.

All answered to the might of the Programs.
